start by making a controller board with an LCD display
connect RFID reader to serial port .. recv the data and display it on the LCD-display.

lProgress is not made by early risers or hard workers, but by LAZY people, trying to find easier ways to do the same........

Ya sure, that will be the process definitely. Can you please suggest me the RFID reader component? Should I use ATMEL's or any other one will be fine for this task?

RFID reader component is available in market .first of all purchase two or more rfid tags and connect RFID reader to serial port .. recv the data and display it on the LCD-display. and u have a facility to maintain the vehicle or machine information in PC trough vb interface
