I know how to generate a sine wave using the 8051. I have trouble adjusting the frequency. Can anyone please help? Also, is it possible for me to generate two different sine waves (same amplitude, different frequencies) using two different ports of the 8051, simultaneoulsy?

hello henry,

which method are you using to generate Sine wave, are you using lookup table ?

hi thierry,
hmmm nice name. A great football fan it seems.looks like i too should chage mine to Platinii .
just joking buddy.
as for ur question about generating two sine waves, the answer is yes but that depends upon what logic ad hardware u are using to generate them.

Yes I am using lookup tables, but I would also like learn about any alternatives. The main problem is adjusting the frequency. I am trying to adjust it by putting appropriate delays between each sample, but it tends to provide wayward frequencies, although in theory it should work.

Use a phase increment accumulator....

By changing the increment value, you can change the frequency up to the max for your crystal speed and number of steps in your sine wave.
