i plan to use the cheapest phone the nokia 3315..

is it compatible for this device to the project?if not.. can you recommend me other phone type?

well it does not have at commands. and i think you can use it. if it has same protocol as 3310,

download PDU converter from download section and see if you're able to send sms or not.

I'd advise you to use a GSM-modem where you can use the AT-comandsyntax (eg. the MTC45 GSM-module).
And I wouldn't use SMS-based switching. I'd use DTMF, that's very easy. You only need a DTMF-receiver like the MT8870D. Then you can (for example) call your GSM-module enter the pin and turn the light on by pressing 11# ore something else.

thank you sir,.i appreciate ur advise... but i want to build this sms based device switching which is i already proposed.. i need to work on it until i finish it.. but ican not make it without ur helps sir.. yah, i have a 3310 unit too. how i shud i do it..??

in this project sir.. they used nokia 5110.. how is this sir?? is it the same with that cicuit i mentioned above..??
