Dear Arun SIr,

Thank you very much for your help. I have successfully bring my Micro controller into Boot Loader mode.
Can I know how to interface a SD Card with the Micro? I have problem in understanding the SPI Mode.

Hello Lucky,

Congrats on successfully programming the micro !

you should select a micro which has Hardware SPI port, and large amount of RAM in KB.

SD card has several sectors divided as 512 byte pages or chunks. we have to access all the 512 bytes at a time, this task is hard with normal 8051 which has 128/256 bytes of RAM.

Not only that, the 16 bit or 32 bit file system on SD card requires lot of RAM and programming. there are several Libraries for AVRs and PICs to interface with SD card

Arun

Hello Arun,

Thank you for you reply. I have to use 8051 micro controller for this project. I know that's the limitations to me. Do you have any idea to write a C Code to interface the 8051 with the SD Card. Can you explain more on SPI mode to me?
