What kind of software development,which programming language,which platform, embedded or non-embedded etc.

sir,
as u have asked the programming language is c++,databases are oracle,sql server,and it can be worked out on windows platform.it is not embedded.

well priya, if u want to start from the basics, learning c language first (structural programming) would be the best option. Later on u could learn the OOPS (object oriented programming) like C++/JAVA etc. As far as the RDBMS like Oracle is concerned i think u better choose between one of them (RDBMS or a programming language) as simultaneously studying both would be very confusing.

For C you can start off with "C Primer Plus" by Stephen Prata.Once you get through,you can finish off with K&R.
For C++ I'd recommend "C++ Primer Plus" by the same author.
