I am beginner in this line I know a limited commands MOV. CLR. SETB. now I would like to Know how to operate the two seven segment display

Plese help me

hi mastermind,
I think at this stage, it would be better u learn a bit more about the uC.
start with a simple blinky program to blink a LED connected at a port pin. Then advance to access the other features like interrupts/timers etc. Finally, when u are confident about using the other commands in the instruction set, i think u would be ready for the interfacing of LED display. The interface may require accessing the lookup table in the program memory where u will have to use the DPTR and the instruction
movc a,@a+DPTR
so it would be a little confusing for u at this stage.

Maybe for the beginning you should take a look at some code examples and try to understand them. Take a look at this page

before you dig into assembly language try with Pascal code and check compiled code in ASM files. You can learn a lot.

I think assembly is much simpler and good to work with. as later stage, when you go to C you can use the same assembly codes in your C programs.
