Hi to all,

For the project development purpose I am planning to buy the Cathode Ray Oscilloscope (CRO). Kindly suggest me like what type of CRO I can go for and also the suitable frequency needed for the embedded applications.

Thanx Ajay for the reply

Looking onto the budget, it can be around 20K to 40K. But I am bothered about the other things such as frequency, No of channels,PC connectivity, etc.
Let me clear my point " what all the things one should consider when he will buy the CRO."

Hi to all,

Can I have the Oscilloscope in my laptop ( which is known as PC scope) instead of going for CRO. If so how to make my PC to Oscilloscope and what are the limitations of that.

very dangerous to do that PC scope use sound card, and you need a good proble for this. I tried is, but it seems PC scope was not working properly with my probe.

but when i connect a mic, you can see a good sine looking wave on display.

you can find some cheaper scopes here..

try it.. if you like it.

Thanx Ajay so much for the details

i luk into oscilloscope from scientech of around 60Mhz Bandwidth.
But I gt one more option from bitscope
http://www.bitscope.com/

it is a USB bit scope and having 100 Mhz Bandwidth & addition features & costs around 600 dollars.

Can I go for that option.

Hi Guyzz,

As the quote I got from Scientech Technologies Pvt Ltd.
1. For the Oscilloscope Caddo 806 ( of 60 MHz Bandwidth ) costs 37,500 INR.
2. Caddo 52 ( Digits Multimeter With Temperature & Capacitance Measurement) costs 1250 INR
3. ST 4071 ( Triple Power Supply) costs 5,950.00 INR.

Can I go with above option.
Actually I am bit concerned about the required bandwidth since main purpose of purchasing the CRO is for the TDR Project.
