Hi, I'm Pascal, I live in Belgium and electronics is my hobby.
Can somebody help me please?
I want to built a system that shuts off the airbags in my car of seats that are empty.
All I need is a simple circuit diagram without relais, for the detetion of an empty seat I wanna use a few micro switchs in every seat to keep it cheap and simple.
But wat do I use to interrupt the circuit of the airbag???
Somebody???

Can you tell us why you want to disable these air bags ?
it seems like a risky thing to do.

Hi welcome to website..
this is actually not the right place to post your doubts but anyways..

you can put an IR sesor on the seat.. i donno how you gonna do that..

or some kind of plate switch. if someone sit, the both plate connects and you come to know sm1 is sitting there.. there are different way to do things.. try it. the second one is simple and easy to use.

It's too expensive to replace all the airbags if you only need three when the driver is the only one in the car...

sorry to warn u of the risks instead of giving solution to ur prob.. but as u r hobbyist, it is possible tht if u try to implement the system u r asking for it may even cause the driver's seat airbag to be disable or something like that ... who knows....:-p

I have to agree with tariq7868.

I assume the manufactures don't make air bags switchable because wiring and switches
are not 100% reliable.

Suppose one of your switches failed, and the air bag did not go off when
someone *was* in the seat.

How many serious accidents are you expecting to have ?.
Perhaps slower driving would be a better option
