But my major concern is should i go with this, i mean nokia 3310 or should i go for GSM modem. i am also going to gsm modem articles available online. Since i had no experience with this stuff, i am a bit confused. Currently, i am trying my hands on small AVR programs before i jump deep into the ocean. My deadline to present the working project is march 31, 2009. What you guys think, is it do able in this time period...

there is nothing to hide. Anyways can you tell me which lcd display will work for ATMega32. I think 16X2LCD should work, but not sure. I want to confirm before i place order.

Hi,
In the AVR tutorial, it is said that PonyPong Serial Device Programmer is required to program the device. Here my question is: if this works for ATMega32. Also do I need a PC parallel port to connect LCD to the AVR STK500 board. My assumption is that I can directly connect the LCD on the board.

Thanks,

Device programmer is just to program your controller and its obvious that LCD will be connected to board not parallel port

Hello,
I ran into a problem. The problem is that the ATSTK500 development board does not support ATMEGA32. The development board is non-refundable or exchangeable. But I was provided ATMEGA8515 chip. I am trying to make it work with Nokia 5110. But I do not know how to do that. I am wondering, if I can get a sample code to start with. I will appreciate that.

Thanks,
Rahul

hi rahul,
why don't u try with a Mega16 . I think it is supported by the STK500. and the major difference between a mega32 and a mega16 is the flash memory.
:-)
