Hello everyone.
I have solar Panel 20v, 50 watts. i am using this to charge 12v 140AH battery.
I need a solar tracker system for this panel to enhance its efficiency.

i think u r rite about using LDR's???i think it will not be accurate enough! is it possible to use camera to track the sun??? by using image processing????
See this link i found this very informative!

hi mansoor,

the link you posted, that guy also using CdS cells (LDR) for sun tracking they are not that wrong when you have good amount of light outside. use it properly with ADC you will get correct right results.

hi ajay ile
i will try this! last day i was in market here in Lahore and i saw a solar tracker very simple two servo motors and a box(Controller). IT costs around 30,000 pk rupees
no i am thinking to make it.... to reduce the expenses of my project...i already spent a lot of money to make my home Solar powered
I have two Panels one is 20v, 50 watt and other one is 20v, 85 watt.
two batteries of 140 Ah and one 1000 watt inverter and two 500 watt inverters
All the setup is working well...i already installed it.....jst SUN TRACKER needed

actually i am working on solar project and i have researched most of the tracker dose not have Image processing. They Use LDR.Ajay is right their care ful use can lead to fruit ful result.

as i am in a software house so most ppl are computer geniuses so at first all purposed idea that we will plant sun flower and track its movement via camera that will do the work and guess what came to my mind i said the day when sunflower dies our silar panel will die also well that was out of the way but i think using camera will not help

I am pleased to listen this
i also think so that, this can be achived by using LDRs but i am worried about the performance
is it possible to use the sun possition provided by Nasa????
By using this we have to program the controller to rotate the motor after some time intervals! to get the sun possition..... is it possible???

you can't say anything unless you have tested it. LDR+ADC can be a great combination.

you can try making a small sample, you dont need a servo you can use a simple DC motor too. do some tests you will come to know yourself about performance.

and do share your project with us a simple solar tracker project can be helpful to others i believe. many would be eager to make it.
