Hi Ajay, I was thinking to use any serial to ethernet converter, for example the Moxa Nport Express DE-311

hmm that would do the job.. but why are you using 8031.. try using AT89C51RD2, coz for this project you will need RAM.. and code space.. RD2 is idle for this.. rest is the tcp/ip stack..

uIP is a small tcp/ip stack for small memory constrained embedded systems.. if you are thinking to write smaller light weight stack with small important protocols like (ICMP, HTTP) then you can take uIP as reference and start to write your own stack.. this can be a great start for your project..
