hi Mamat
u forget to mention that which xbee module ur using
normally it has 3.3 to 5 volt operating voltage range so can be directly connected to pic
hope this link will help u

ok my xbee model is xbee pro like this picture 'http://www.dfrobot.com/image/cache/data/TEL0004/1-500x500.jpg'
i want to know how the connection...
1) to setting xbee using pc,use max232 or max3232?
2)between pic18f4620 and xbee still using max or not?
actually i want transfer data between xbee and xbee using microcontroller

hi Mamat
picture link is not working can u upload data sheet of module
if its operating voltage is 3.3 to 5 volt then it need max 232 when interfacing with pc
no need with controller but its better upload data sheet for verification

hi
according to data sheet it needs max 232 when u connect it with pc
it can directly connected to controller may be voltage divider needed to convert 5 volt into 3.6v

so it mean to connect microcontroller i must using max232?sorry i not understand datasheet and not confidence my self and scare xbee will burn.

yes xbee will surely burn if not used properly,

you can directly connect it with pic by adding a series resistor, but it is always best way to use max232 at both xbee and PIC and then perform the communication, its safer for begineers with xbee
alternatively, you can use same 3.3v power supply for both pic and xbee, pic works fine on 3.3v and then you dont need any max232 and all
