well there is nothing much to do..
just take the RC5 library and after the add and command byte is received, send it to serial terminal (after converting it to ascii)
so you can view it on terminal what you are receiving after you press those keys..
all you need is serial communication part..

and krish.. your problem is related to IR which is no where related to this topic. Please create a new topic for yourself.

sir, i think i am unable to explain my problem.my project is no where related to IR.

I tried implementing the circuit and also have decided the AT commands that I need to execute. I have changed my mobile phone to Motorola V3i.
I have also written the entire codes in the assembly language to carry out the function smoothly.

I have basically followed two steps:
1. Synchronize the baud rate of the microcontroller with that of the mobile.
2. Send AT commands from the microcontroller to the mobile phone using their ASCII codes.

I set the baud rate of my microcontroller to 9600 b/s and same for the mobile phone.
When I directly connect the mobile phone with the microcontroller I do it by connecting the data cable of the mobile phone with a flash cable(which has one end with USB port and the other with DB 9 pin) and finally to a RS232 DB9 pin in my circuit.

Now here is the problem: somehow the mobile phone is not responding to the AT commands that I send.

The LCD display keeps showing “wait” for infinite time. When I asked my teacher he said that may be the intermediate hardware need the phone driver to understand the AT commands. He suggested us to first connect the phone to the PC through DB 9 pin (not through USB) and then try sending the AT commands to the mobile phone from the PC without using the USB driver.

now u say that i dont need the USB driver..so i am not able to figure out where exactly i am failing to communicate effectively...

sorry krish i actually got confused with someone's problem
ok!
As you are using flasher cable and changed phone so did you check at command working on hyperterminal again?

make your phone work with PC first..

hehe its ok sir, and happy birthday...

yes i have checked my phone with pc through data cable it responds perfectly..i tested the AT commands and it responds successfully to all of them..

but as i have written.. when i connected the phone to microcontroller (data cable- fasher cable).. at that time i am facing rpoblem..
usually when i send AT command to mobile it responds an 'ok'..but in this case its just showing wait..and i dont know what to do next..pls guide me..

hi,

I was using N72 to send SMS from PC thru a C prog by using AT commands.... now i wanted to read msgs from the phone...The phone wasn respondong to AT+CMGR or AT+CNMI or AT+CMGL in hyperterminal.... after a bit of googling i found out that symbian OS phones dont respond to reading SMS AT commands... can u suggest me some non-symbian phones which support all the commands other than T290i...

i also read that all gprs-phones have modems, is that true??? i dont think so cos i tried a lot of phones like 3200, 3220 thru DKU-2 cables which went unrecognized by the latest PC suite on vista as well as XP...

Could u tell me if 3310 supports all AT commands and if i buy a flasher cable and connect it to PC will my problem be solved???

Earnestly waiting for ur reply...

3310 does not support AT commands..6310 can be the option
