i have amended the code...i can change the settings..
but don't know why i cannot exit the settings mode ?

further changing day is problem....

please check the 2nd code i have sent you in email....

I wont be able to look at your code this weekend as I am going out of town. So you might have to wait a little longer for response. By the time try to figure out the issue My funda is.. think as if you're executing the code not controller.

i solved utmost..

now the problem remaining with hours.....when i increments, it increments very oddly.
another problem is to come out of the interrupt loop.....

here is a project for interfacing AT89S52 with Nokia 3310 LCD and RTC + Thermometer

hope you can make use of it....

Bug - the hours increments unevenly....& uC continues in interrupt
FYI - analog Thermometer is static

if anybody ables to debug the project, please let me know as well....
