Hi to All,
I have got the ceramic capacitor in which it is printed as 330 AEC. Now I got confused whether it is a 330pf or 33pf. Can anyone help me in this.

Hi,

the last digit indicates the number of Zeros that have to be suffixed to the first two values

for eg: 330 -----> 3 3 ( zero indicates no 0's present) -----> 33pf
104 -----> 1 0 ( 4 zeros) ----> 1 0 0000 pf ---> 100nf --> 0.1uF
103 -----> 1 0 ( 3 zeros) -----> 1 0 000 pf ----> 10nf --> 0.01uF
474 -----> 4 7 ( 4 zeros) -----> 4 7 0000 pf ----> 470nf --> 0.47uF

further single letters will be also be printed to indicate tolerances :

like: J = +/- 5 %
K = +/- 10 %
G = +/- 20 %

hope this info cleared your doubts

Arun

ceramic coding as arun explained you have four letters or digits..

First digit: first significant (I am calling it F)
Second digit: second significant (calling it S)
third digit: multiplier (calling it M)
fourth digit/letter: tolerance (calling it T)

As it is ceramic so capacitance will be in picoFarad
so your capacitance will become = F S x 10^M +/- T

if you have capacitor written 104 so capacitance is
1 0 x 10^4 +/- T(whatever letter mentioned) pF = 10x10000 pF = 100nF
