HOW to read the data from the LCD displayed?

hi,
i m working on Digital key lock for door.
in this password can be reset when user wants.....
allready my keypad and lcd's are working fine.
my problem is that ,how can i read the LCD displayed data to compare with the EEPROM data?
any body Please HELP me ........

What do you mean 'read lcd displayed data'?
For comparing with the passwd stored in eeprom,you need the data off the keypad,not the lcd.
When the user enters the password using the keypad,store it in a variable and compare with the eeprom pasword.If OK release the lock else display a wrong passwd error.
