Hi Everyone,

I have newly joined to this forum. I have just started working on 8051 and made a generic 8051 dev board using AT89C51, but iam facing the following problems.

1. How to flash program my application as i donot have a programmer.
2. I want to do target debugging.

Could somebody suggest how to go ahead.

Thanks in advance,
Regards,

yeah i have taken a philips micro and able to flash program it and test it. But what iam trying to say is if i flash the entire code iam unable to find the problems in the code. so i want to flash the program on the target with all the required hardware connected (ex: LCD connected or I2C device connected) and then run the code in the target in single step mode(on PC), able to put a breakpoint, watch the memory in the PC. In short i want to emulate the micro ( i hope we get some monitor program for this??).

Please let me know if iam not clear in explaining the problem.

waiting for your reply

Thanks and Regards,

k..got it..
but i don know any such facility available with normal 8051..
there is one controller 4m analog devices called ADuC841(8051 core)..it comes along with a software called "aspire" where u can emulate ur code..
but d whole ADuc841 kit is a costly affair...
so i'll sugest u,if u've any doubts wid d code,discuss it here n den burn d code into ur controller..
dis is d best soln,i guess..!

ok. then i will start writing the code but i am not sure how much time it is going to take and whether i will be able to add all the features required for emulating, may be i can find something is already available in the internet.

let me know your comments
