can any one tell how to measure the 40khz pulse with out oscilloscope

hi,
i had designed a sensor to Tx and Rx the signal of 40khz. after receiving the signal i see the out put pulse in oscilloscope, can any one tell how to measure that 40khz pulse (pulse width)with out oscilloscope....is any possible to measure using pic controller ...then can any one help...
