Good day,

I want to use a single turn absolute encoder, but I am not sure as to how to display the shaft position on a screen. I need the angular position for measurement purpose.

Do I need a microcontroller to convert or to condition they Gray/Binary output to byte size bundels?

I really do not know where to start!!!

encoders give you o/p with angualar displacement information mostly it depends on what encoder you are using. So first its good to select an encoder which is available there nearby, we can look into its datasheet and work on it accordingly.
