http://www.shaastra.org/n/events/hi check IIT madras (chennai) techfest capture the flagIn the 21st century security and intelligence gathering have become top priorities for every major nation. Many countries are now investing heavily on automated robots remotely controlled unmanned vehicles to meet this goal. These robots work more reliably and effectively than human patrols, and also eliminate the risk to human life..........Get a GripThe first cranes were invented by the Ancient Greeks in the late 6th century BC. Ever since, cranes have existed in a mind-boggling variety of forms, and till date have played a major role in the development and the making of the human civilization. The advent of the 21st century saw a steep increase in the competitiveness among various ports across the world. The success of the port depends on its ability to attract and retain competitive shipping services, which provide exporters and importers with a full range of overseas ports and frequent services. The need of the day is to have excellent port infrastructure, which makes it all the more important to have fast and heavy duty cranes. Gantry cranes or container cranes are the ones which define the speed at which a ship is loaded or unloaded.
i just saw the specifications of the robot and the design of arena. You have lines on the floor to guide your robot.. all you have to decide is how to make a proper use of them.. and there is some confusion about the canyon. I mean.. you need to think.. to make your robot not to fall in it.. all you can do is.. look for the path.. its going to be a typical design.. nice.. you need a very good lab for that..Wish i was in some good college to have all that in my course he he.. anyways..

hmm.. but that could be slippery.. i mean.. is good no doubt.. but ur robot will be little unstable with that.. you must use something which have grip on the rail.. that is importantalso the blocks.. how they are going to hold.. coz.. that is the main thing which is going to give them points
