Hi there, as advised I am posting here. The initial problem I had with furl is a few menu items were still showing unfriendly links, I have since figured this out.The second question I had was could this be adapted to hide the url extensions completely? (not usually a good idea I know). A better idea would be to just 'hide 'the directory, so instead of seeing www.whatever.com/e107_plugins/blah/page.htm it would simply state www.whatever.com/page.htm. Is this possible?Extending from this would be instead of having to write each plugin page (guestbook, pm etc) into the htaccess, would it be possible to 'blanket cover' the plugin directory (or any other). As you can probably guess, I have not dealt with htaccess or mod_rewrite before, having now looked at a mind bending amount of information on the subject, it would appear to have a lot of capabilities. This plugin has certainly made it a lot easier for me, without it I would be still sat here scratching my head and looking completely dumb!Apologies for the longwindedness of this! I can ramble on sometimes.Mike.

sure you learn how to do things with your experience. Well i was going to tell you that, you need to re-write those site links thats all... and put the entry in the HTACCESS file corresponding to those links. any other problem. you can post anytime.

I use FURL and .htaccess and it's great! However, I also rewrite the link to my sports pics in the Coppermine gallery using .htaccess:RewriteRule sportpics.php e107_plugins/coppermine_menu/index.php?cat=3Now check these two URLs:http://bjoern.brembs.net/sportpics.phphttp://bjoern.brembs.net/e107_plugins/coppermine_menu/index.php?cat=3In the re-written URL, the images are missing and most links point to the root-directory instead of the coppermine directory. How can I fix this? Thanks!Bjoern

just install the plugin as you do with other plugins..copy .htaccess file in the public_html folder and if u have e107 under a subdirectory then.. change the RewriteBase to that subdirectory..and this pluigin works on E107 V0.7+ ok? so will not work on 0.617 hope it works.. just upload and install..it support all basic feature of e107 like, news, download, forum, guestbook, stats etc..

Well i cant do anything in feature addition of FURL, because there has been a small fight in the past regarding the FURL and i decided not to add anything in FURL (like support for other plugins etc)just removing of bugs, helping all to install, successfully run it, and only FURL V1.1 or V1.0 thats all. I think you might know that there was FURL V2.0 (which i am running right now) that is now grounded.. coz of that fight. I don't know what to say.. but i think the mistake was mine. So.. for not taking anymore credits in future, i stopped FURL.Anyhow many good coders are there will help you out so don't worry and for basic help i am here... don't take anything to heart Peace for ALL!

I have a problem when im using ecpatcha plugin with furl. Furl defunctions(is this the right word?) ecaptcha. I have described my problem here: http://e107coders.org/downloads1487.html (last post). Authow of ecaptcha write to me:"Your problem is not just limited to ecaptcha, every part of the sitewith a index.php is directing back to the main page.I suspect you have put a redirect for index.php in your .htaccess.htaccess rules apply to subfolders, not just the current folder, soyou need to remove it. "and"Dont use a .htaccess redirect, upload the index.php that comes withe107 and it will automatically redirect people to the news.php "For now i have deleted FURL, because, to have site protected from bots is more important to me than to have SEO.BTW: I dont watching whats going on with FURL much, but It will be nice if FURL will have more friendly urls. To have in url title of certain item or forum etc, instead of news12.html etc.

Thank you for your help resolving this little issue with your excellent plugin! edit: To clarify the problem- When I rewrite the url /e107_plugins/calendar_menu/calendar.php?##, to make it accept and forward the format newURL##.php, it converts all the links to newURL.php?##.

its not recommended to have .php extension it might give you 500 Internal Server Error. but anyways.. if its working fine then no issues..so.. regarding your problem, you need to shuffle the links in e_module and sitelinks.sc files..e.g. move pattern 41 to the last.. of course you have to change the count too. try it and you will see.actually replace thing find the calender link first as the combination without lookin at other links.. so try putting the pattern 41 to the end.

you might need to add few lines of code in e_module.php and sitelinks.sc to make newsfeed work.. also need to add rewrite links in .htaccess file. Take a look at the e_module file to know more..
