cd player

hi,
i have an idea to share with u..
idea is to
interface a microcontroller with cd ROM and display data inside cd on a graphical lcd connected to microcontroller...
i.e it will become a cd player.....
can it b implemented or it is a silly idea??
plz give ur comments and suggestions.

you first need to implement the CDFS file system.. to read the data correctly.. i am not sure.. but i think the interface is same like the HDD, and its easy to find HDD interface with microcontroller. what do you think?
