hi gpreet,
looking at ur project details, converting a project from ATmega32 to 89c51 would involve a considerable change in the hardware as both the uCs have completely different architectures and subsequent changes in the code according to the hardware will be necessary. It would be better that u only carry over the logical flow of ur reference code and start afresh on the newer project preferably finalizing the hardware first .
