How a 8051 uc can be connected to PC so that whan it receive any data it could transfer to PC

please help

i have to send data through serial port of 8051 to a C program running on pc.
where computer store these data coming through its serial port

U please check it out the Tutorials page given in this website for the serial communication with PC by making use of MAX232 chip & DB9 connector.

ya i have undergone all basics but the problem is that i have to store data in
a variable in C program running on pc and that data is enterd on 8051uC. how can i store data in variable.
