80c51 RxD and TxD usage help needed (urgent)

my project involves transceivers that use the serial ports RxD and TxD, im programming in C.
i could really use some advice on how to actually receive and transmit data through these pins in a serial manner. please reply asap if you can help, i would really appreciate it.
