Sir,
Our aim is to built a device that senses the percentage of primary colours(RGB) of an object. Our idea is to use RGB filters and LDRs for each colour. Then to feed the response of LDRs,to each colour ,to a micro controller and to calculate their percentage.
Will LDR suite to our need?? how wil v feed the data from the LDR to microcontroller??

1. ldr is not the best way to check colors, search for a color sensor at google.
2. LDR is an resistor that changes his resistens by light fucntionality, wht you need to do is to connect a serial resistor (one leg of the ldr to the ground, the second to the other resistor and the other leg of the resistor to vcc (5v power suply), now check an ADC (analog to digital convertor, search part on google) and conect it as in the datasheet, when the Vref is connected to the ldr (between the ldr and the resistor).
hope i was helpful

i just have a small thought in my mind.. if we put a red color transparent film on the top of LDR so will it that paper be able to filter the red color? So whatever value we get from the output of LDR will act as the amount of red color in the light source.. I hope my thinking is correct.. same we can do with other primary colors.. what you think about this?
