Hi ALL
For designing any devices based on any GSM, you need to follow some rules to get better performance. We will (doesn't like word I) keep on updating thethis post with additional rules.for designing.

wish i cud see some hardware differences along with performance advantages of
8 pin sim connectors over the old 6 sim connectors.
i know it is better but is it always true??

Hint 1):
Always use to draw minimum of 3mm track for VBATT(supply for GSM 3.6volt typical)
2): mount low ESR electrolytic capacitors near the GSM module additional to 10pf and 33pF for 900 and 1800 GSM band respectively to elemenate TDMA noise caused to damaged any components and audible noise in Voice area.

Tip 3):
For GSM related applications we advice to use Linear Power regulator. but where there is wide range of input power supply we recommended to use Switching DC-DC regulator
4): Please make sure your switching power supply doesn't use 200KHz frequency otherwise it will start dropping network calls or/and create disturbance in communications
5): your DC regulator must have capability of 2Amps o/p (with 3.6 volt Typical)
6):If you make use of switching power supply then place it little away(at distance)from GSM module.
7): in track designing do not tap the power track going to GSM, take seperate track from the regulated source for the perifarals and devices.
8):wherever possible put 10pF and 33pF capacitors in the power line except DATA lines.
