Hi everyone
i want to design a circuit in which i have +12v and -12v supply for op-amp using a single DC source. I wont be having any common ground, just a single DC source.
The current requirements are around 300mA to 500mA.
Is there any dedicated IC available for this purpose, because i want to reduce the PCB footprint

ya i know 78xx and 79xx.
i can use 7812 but how can i use 7912... i already have single regulated power supply, i want this circuit as further attachment to it. Something like discrete charge pump that can generate -12v
[0-24v]->[+12v and -12v]

300mA to 500mA is too much current to generate easily.
You will need inductors etc, it will get complicated and expensive
I'm sure there are dedicated circuits, but really you will have to do a lot of research to find what works best for you.
One option is to use a cheap Chinese /ebay inverter to produce 24 volts then create
a zero volt rail midway.
