can we recompile your given files to generate hex file using keil software or sdcc and match your hex file(to check any inadvertent error) ?

HOW DOES IT GET MESSAGE BACK FROM MICROCONTROLLER TO THE CLIENT SIDE(does it use haserver in the process) ??

HAserver just send the data back, thats all it does. I am 100% sure that the problem lies in your connection between PC and controller (serial connection)

Checking Serial connection:
1. Open Hyper Terminal and open com port with this configuration 9800 8-n-1

2. press key many times, you must get the default string.

if you are not getting this answer from your board..
Your connections are wrong !n

Well i didnt get anything.. in the PM, but.. nothing will work on 2400 (thats why you are getting those nasty characters) coz the baud is 9600
Now please check if your caps are ok! i hope you did not burn anything while soldering. You might have seen the demo everything working fine.
