any idea about the port given for the nokia2600+?
Anyone has any info regarding this . is it a serial interface port? tried googling for the info but could not find any in the manual too.
btw, it is a small port having 4 pins.no data cable available for this model.
thanks in advance..

I found this warning in a Nokia user guide showing 2600 connections,
but the photo was too fuzzy to be sure which connector it was
"Note: Do not touch this connector as it is intended
for use by authorized personnel only."
The 2600 has internal F-bus connectors, so it may be F-bus.

Nokia only talk about connectivity as by Bluetooth 2.0.
The 2600 has internal F-bus connectors, so it may be F-bus.ExperimenterUK
well, i think i will have to try it the hardway . wish me luck.

latest update:
i dissected the nok1200/2760 cable i bought ( seemingly compatibe port for 2260) as it did not sense my phone. here is a snapshot:
Refering to the images , the cable has (infortunately) a COB (chip on board) usb convertor. Te crystal is of 12Mhz, the connections as per the indent on the PCB (lucky me!!!) are:
green: Tx
blue: Rx
white: GND
assumptions: nokia does maintain same pin description for all models for the same port structure.
query: what is the interface required if i want to remove the wires from the board shown and connect it to uC? will a direct connection to the UART pins do? Is it the F-bus ? what is the F-bus levels? Or is it the RS/EIA -232 level? can i check it using a good old multimeter?
hmmm... too many questions. answers awaited.
anyways, wil try to connect a max232 to the RX/Tx lines , this sunday, and try to cross check it fro a hyperterminal.
On the safety side better waste a max232 than a 8051 chip :-)
My guess: as the voltage of the mobile is 3.6V, i think the output is standard TTL as nokia would not take the trouble to convert it first to 232 level and then again convert it to USB port levels.... hope i am right..
suggestions are more than welcome.thanks in advance.
:mad . I seem to be putting more mind into this than Micheal scofield in 'prison break' and peter petrelli in 'heroes'. breaking through secured facilities and setting the future right by time travel seems a lot easier.

" can i check it using a good old multimeter"
why not just try it .. but yes you can.
F-bus levels are around 3 volts.. so you will have to limit the voltage
you send to the phone.
Apart from voltage considerations you can connect directly to the 8051 serial port
115,200bps, 8 data bits, no parity, one stop bit.
I saw a diagram somewhere of the pin layout of an internal connector for a
Nokia model 2600.. not sure if it was the + or the classic.
If it's the same as yours you could probably buzz out the internal and
external connections to get a idea of what the pins are.
Let me know if you want me to look for it.

that would be great if u can find it for me. :-)
i have tried googling for some info but always came to a roadblock.
Thanks in advance bro. also for the Fbus levels. will surely check it tommorow and post feedback.
ok. now, yesterday, i checked the idle volatges on Tx/Rx of phone. just as u said , the voltage levels were +3V on Rx and 0V on Tx of the phone.
now, i tried this hardware to connect phone from PC com port:
phone Tx ----> max232 ---> Rx of com port
phone Rx <-------3V limiter (zener) <---- max232 <------- Tx of com port
used the hyperterminal with 8N1 , 115200bps baud but did not find any response.
also interchanged the TX/Rx of phone and rechecked with no success.
:mad
Hope the command 'AT' and expected response 'ok' is correct for checking?
I have already verified the Max232 circuit (used it to program p89c51RD2 succesfully.
hmmmm. another roadblock. any suggestions? or should i assume the port is not what it seems........

It is a protocol with functions created by Nokia and is officially secret.
It probably varies from phone to phone.
Take another look at this thread
http://www.8051projects.net/forum-t12149-0.html
You should be able to get AT type software from the Nokia website and just use Bluetooth.
If you do go looking for F-Bus info, be aware that of all the hundreds of hits you get off
Google, 90% are based on two sources.
www.embedtronics.com/nokia/fbus.html and
www.gnokii.org
should i assume the port is not what it seems........
pdi33
No grasshopper..
the port is what it seems.. but not what you assumed
