Thanks Guys! I will try my very best to finish up my project :-).

Sanath, if I bought the RFID that I already mention in the previous post, will it affect my project?

den I think as Sashijoseph told U need to make use of TTL to RS232 Converter :-)

But Spiritgate

Since you are connecting TTL Compatible RFID Reader to Micro-Controller I/P which is also TTL Compatible. So I think there is no need of any converter until and unless you are connecting RFID to the PC COM port which works on RS232 voltage levels. :-)

I been thinking, can I possibly use a breadboard as a medium?

Like for example, I use 2 computer, 1 for RFID and another one for micro controller.

Then, I program the RFID so that it can transmit data out to the bread board like "1" or "0". If 1, it will trigger the current and send it to the micro controller so that the micro controller will know it as "1". Then the micro controller will light up the LED on the board itself.

Is this possible? If can how to do it, i mean in coding? lol

oh ya the output will be using the printer port to send out a bit

I believe your RFID module will be giving o/p in TTL, but anyways, usually RFID reader sends card's ID over uart, what you can do is whenever controller reads data from uart, you lit up an LED, just to know that a card is read.

this requires simple uart/serial communication. View tutorial, its more than enough to program.

Now i using a RFID which has a serial port. Well for now, since my new RFID haven come yet. I want to ask whether can I connect my RFID serial port to micro controller serial port via serial cable so that I only need to link my micro controller to CPU via USB cable.

Is it possible? because the RFID come with a program which allow me to program with it, its using vbscript. So can I create one myself? I just need to detect whether it got tapped or not. If it tapped, It will trigger the micro controller function

maybe i ask like this better. If you have a RFID and micro controller both have a serial port each. How do u connect them both?

as u say both of them have com(serial) port.
1. what is the output of the rfid device. if ttl then simply
uC tx -> device Rx
uC rx-> device Tx
uC gnd-> device gnd
else
uc Tx -> TTL-2-RS232->device Rx
device Tx->RS232-2-TTL->uC Rx
2. Baud rate shud be known check for 9600, 4800 &115200 as these are the most commmon ones.

since ur device has a ttl output go for the first connection

thx shyam, I will follow that when my new RFID arrive. I have one more question about my current RFID. I know that this is a micro controller forum, but i do hope you guys will help me with this. I program RFID with vbScript. Then if I want to communicate it through serial port, I will have to download activeComport. I follow its method but still cant figure out why it still give me a "generic open port error".

If anyone know other method to communicate through serial port using vbScript please tell me thanks!
