1602 LCD for 8051

Hi,
I'm new at this, and I'm trying to learn about 8051. I was hoping if someone could give me an indept tutorial as to how to interface a 1602 LCD through an 8051 micro-controller. I'm using AT89C51RD2. Just need to know basic assembly codes, how to make it display, and any special instructions I need to keep in mind, such as to display a constantly changing variable in the program.

please go to tutorial section to learn about interfacing peripherals with your microcontroller. You will get sample codes as well as complete information that you need to know about that peripheral. So just take a look at the Microcontroller tutorials
