hi guys
since a long time i was thinking of writing a program which automatically calculates the value to be sent to a port to light up a 7 seg display to display numerals or alphabets...

i got some time today and have written a C program which you can use to find the value.

its still a beta version(as with most initial sw ) and i will be grateful if you guys would give me some feedback about the program.

instructions for use are there in the program itself.

hope you find it useful.

@majoka : i dont know visual c, vb or vb.net ... the day i learn i will create a new app . i know only C and C++ and this was written in C. i am working on a mouse version of the same program and will post it soon. compile the .c file(attached) directly and check if it works...

working is simple really... if u want to select seg A press key 'A' and so on... ESC will exit the program.

@Ajay : thanks a lot ajay...

Attaching the source code now... comments about the source code are also welcome

cheers...

it depends on the type of graphics adapter you use.

the code is written such that it detects the adapter automaticallly but in some cases the program exits without the graphics getting initialised.

it works perfectly fine on my desktop pc but it exist when i try it on my laptop...

im working on it to fix it... let u know soon.
