Dear sir,

I am having problems with the home automation circuit. It doesnt respond when I connect the serial port to my COM1. I did the circuit twice with new sets of components.

The HAServer puts as 'Port Open on Com1
Waiting for client...'

There is no display on the LCD, only the backlight is on.

I also found that the power supply, the 7805 and 7812 voltage regulator are wrongly labeled. The pin 2 and pin 3 are mixed up. The output voltage should be on pin 3 and pin 2 is for ground.

Also, the DB9, Com port, I also found that this website says the connection for the pins on the DB9 should be pin 4 and pin 6 should be connected directly, same for pin 7 and pin 8. http://www.kmitl.ac.th/~kswichit%20/MAX232/MAX232.htm Also, the capacitor on the Pin 6, the negative leg of the capacitor is connected to the pin 6, wheres as in your guide, the pin 6 is connected to the positive leg of the capacitor C7.

What should I get the display on the LCD when i power the circuit up without connecting to a server and also when connected to a server.

Please help.

Thank you.

Dear sir,

I already connected to the circuit with a server. I use another computer as a client and connect to the server using telnet. The attachment print screen is the result. On the client side, when a command is issue, there is no reply from the server.

Please help.

Thank you.
