touch screen can vell be implemented on the monitor...

whats the size of ur minitor abbas??

just calculate the cost...
way too expensive...
still the touch screen is a transparent sheet avaialable in almost all sizes...
mostly interfaced to give parallel data that can be collected and sent serially to the com port or the LPT port of the PC. then its all about writing the driver for ur cursor..

nice idea allover but a little bit costly i guess

from whr to whr the data will be transfer since screen will only provide the area to ooperate and how the data after touching a particular area is recognised by the pc since the data in transfered to any controller other then PC

Hi,

Touch screen monitor idea ( using IR detectors ) was implemented successfully 9 months ago
by a friend of mine.

hi everyone,
i have an idea abt implementing the touchscreen...based on SONAR.
at the four corners of the screen place small RF/bluetooth detectors. on your finger place a rf transmitter. the coordinates are read continuosly. to simulate touch a small push button can be placed at the tip of your finger.

but i dont know if this scheme would be cost effective (also the number of sensors could be reduced to 2 or 3)

Hi abbas ,
It is not so difficult building touch screen Using IR Pair matrix. i have done it year ago by simple interfacing with parallel port without microcontroller. but you have to place buttons of software on exact crossing dots of ir rays. it is a bit hard to calibrate entire system.
