hi,
i am currently desingning a PCB of home automation ove internate
i noticed that the output of 89c51 (i.e. 1 to 8) is directly given ..
but i think there should be pull up resistors bank of 10 k to make stability...while operating relay's with driver transistors..
what u think?
and also..
can we also check the status of the condition ..like ON or OFF status of machine
thanking you

well if we are connecting the Relays then Driver transistors are required. i have just designed the circuit for cheaper cost using LED just to give idea and every LED denotes a device or switch, and main this to show is switching over internet. so i didnt put much stress on the appliance section.
yes we can check the status also.
i have made a command named "stat" for checking the status.
it will tell u the appliances are on/off and will show u the recent 3 messages sent to the LCD.

u can use bc547 transistor there and connect relay or mosfet at output so i hope this will help u
