@btulsyan, yes IP means public IP of computer where hardware is connected.

Please make sure if your PC is behind a router, you need to create virtual port or port forward 23 port number or whatever port number you are using to PC where hardware is connected.

thank you sir for your quick response... i am using telnet and since telnet is being used i have to port forward port no. 23 (default port no. for telnet). Is there any possibility to use port no. other then 23. If yes, what else we can use and why???

yes you can configure port number in application settings. I think default port number is 8888 instead of 23. Telnet gives flexibility to supply port number. So command would change to:

$ telnet IP 8888

thumps up..!! I am using port no. 23 in application setting and trying to create a virtual port for port no. 23 . when i am trying to create virtual port in configuration page of my router, it is asking for the Local IP address, there i have to use default gateway IP address or public IP address... what is your opinion on this sir..

Sorry for late response Local IP is address of PC where server is running. Let me know it worked or not.
