chinmay in ur post "7805 heating up" everyone have mentioned that a resistor is used for reducing the current we have already used a pot resistor as shown in ckt diagram

so we ahve to use some other resistor or everyone is talking about that resistor
???????

hey chinmay...i am trying to interface JHD 162A with 89c51..i am facing the same problem that u faced with ur project..the display shows one line with blocks and other line blank..please take a look at my circuit..

i am not using read lcd..so pin 5 is grounded...

see if u hv burn d uc n u ddint get d display correctly den ...check wid my schmatic diagram once again or read the previous post dat i hv discused abt it here in this thread.

i have burned the code on the uc..i verified my diagram with ur schematics..it seems to match..if u could take a look at my circuit and tell me if the connections are right then i will be sure that there is some problem in my code.....

P.S. : pins 1 & 2 of lcd are also connected to GND and +Vcc respectively alongwith the pot..

well mohakjhaveri this is the common problem that ur facing:) because everyone who completed this project faced the same problems(me too )...not first tell me that the circuit u posted above...have u tried this on simulation software befor going towards hardware?....since ur not using read lcd ...have u made amendments in ur code according to this change?
