well i am not sure but programming tech must be same .may be they use different memory location to store specific data like card id , phone book data location ,sms data location etc and while reading / writing we must take care of them

hi i recently know that there is an IC from phillips TDA8003TS which is used to read and write simcard, you can use that IC with a microcontroller to copy a simcard. the IC can be controlled by the standard I2c
