you can use any other free terminal software available. or try if you can get a free version of hyper terminal online. search for "Hyper terminal private edtion".

Hi,
I tried hyperterminal alternative using two alternative softs, Tera Team and Putty,
But in the both i unable to get the display in system. I set the baud rate as 9600 in both program and software, also kept correct COM port of circuit. Hve u ever done in Vista or any idea of this?

well i dont see any problem in your code, so probably problem is in hardware. check your hardware carefully.

now coming to vista, well i have used vista from past many years and now i am using Windows 7 from past 1 yr. Absolutely no problem at all. have u tried searching hyper terminal private edition? try searching it with rapidshare keyword.

no you need vista drivers. or let windows search for drivers.

VB6 is supported but win7 will say its not compatible. but most of things work.

I've had similar problems in Vista, I tried many hyperterminal alternatives but it will only work if you right click and "run as administrator" to gain access to the com ports. The terminal built in with MikroC works all the time without any problems. If you have a copy then use it, it doesnt matter whether or not your are using a Microchip controller - it is a terminal regardless of what you use it for. It will also try to detect the baud rate too! Good luck

I haven't had a single problem using Vista and Hyperterminal PE.

I bought a USB->RS232 adapter cable, configured it as COM3, and setup Hyperterminal as COM3, and everything worked perfectly!

You can get the last free version of HT here:

Try downloading it, and configure it properly - You shouldn't have any problems...
