Any project idea with optical mouse?

I have got a spare optical mouse and want to make something useful with it. Like a toy car navigation with a navigation software or any other which is a little bit advanced.

Well you can make a low resolution scanner from your optical mouse. search the net you will find many articles and on project on converting mouse into scanner.
