An idea for my final year(year 3) project.
DDS Signal Generator with following parts...
8051 (LPC938)
AD9851 or similar DDS IC
Graphic LCD ( possibly one with a KS0108 controller)
4x4 Keypad
Rotary Encoder -for changing frequency
Low pass filter for output
Analog circuitry for amplitude and DC of Control
I don't necessarily need to use a Graphic LCD but I already no how to interface to HD44780 type, and thought it would be good to learn something new.
So what do you think, would this be a good project or is too simple/complex?
Has anybody experience with a project like this using DDS IC'S ?
Analog Devices DDS IC's

not bad.. would be interesting to see the resulting hardware and working of it. good luck!

Thanks... just an idea for the moment though haven't fully settled on it yet. TBH SMD soldering makes me a bit nervous.
