Mobile controlled Robot

This is the complete detail you can have to create your own Global Robo that can be driven by sending DTMF tones from your mobile phone!!!!!!! "" Yes!! your mobile phone""

All you need to do is to have a DTMF tone decoder IC and some capacitors and resisors to complete the circuitry along with two mobile phones and a headphone for inputting the DTMF tones into the circuitry and u r done.

The complete list of bill of materials is provided below along with the circuitry with a little explanation of how the complete circuit works.

Bill of Materials:
MT8870 dtmf decoder ic
100k resitor 2pc.
300k resistor 1pc.
3.57945Mhz crystal oscillator
0.1 uf capacitor 2pc.
4 LED
connecting wires....

Working: while the input from the mobile using a headphone is connected b/w the 0.1uf capacitor and the ground, DTMF tones can be transferred to the decoder ic(8870) and once the ic is powered up the o/p can be seen by connecting LED's at Q!, Q2, Q3 and Q4 o/p of the decoder ic.
The output on the Q1 to Q4 pins of the decoder IC has been shown in the image.

the o/p of the decoder ic then can be connected to a motor driver ic like(L298 or L293D) to drive some motors or relays as a switch to operate some devices remotely as the Mobile phone connected can be called from anywhere in the world and by pressing the keys the DTMF tones can be transmitted to the receiving end mobile and hence any device connected can be operated globally.

I have a question.
How wud u control the device attached to that ic by sending dtmf tones? Its just by sending ? And how i am going to manipulate the outputs if let say i want to turn on Q2 for 2sec? Is that dtmf decoder ic programable?

hi coolmirza143
wonderful thing

@ romel_emperado
dtmf r not programmable chip it decode analog frequencies to its digital equivalent no

then how would u specify if you want to turn on Q4 or Q1 of that IC? using DTMF?

as i look at the table below. that is the command in sending DTMF to control the outputs?

when button pressed on mobile some transistor on and some off then we adjust our robot logic then on which button its goes right left etc

hi majoka since this is my first time to use DTMF in my phone let me ask a question.

when i tried to use DTMF in my phone it ask a DTMG number what particular number shud i enter?
is that in the table above shud i enter?

yes you can enter any number
 romel_emperado like this.

hi romel_emperado
simple connect earphone to mobile insert ear phone into ur ear u can dial any no when u diall u will listen a specific toned across each no that r DTMF Tones
make a call to any no when he attend do not speak and press any button u will listen a tones clearly that is analog frequencies in audible range as mention in above char
decoder ic decode these frequencies to its key in binary form
encoder ic encode keys no into analog frequencies form

ah okay thanks i understand that..
but the phone you are calling need to answer your call for you to send a DTMF? what if the one you are calling is not answering your call, can u still send a DTMF?
