Hi guys,

new here and am interested in building a project! This is a project idea for work/college!
Mainly looking to have input(s) - microcontroller - output(s)

I've upload diagram and would like yer opinion on is it possible to implement on 8051 without 'reinventing the wheel'. I would be good in general electronic eng but microcontrollers are new to me!

Basically an operator would press button to open either door - only one door possible open at one time. When someone comes form outside to inside they would have to enter password using keypad and then inner door would open.
Purpose of indoor sensor determines direction of movement maybe..
Sensors on doors to ensure one closed all times and also someone hasn't forced their way in!
Maybe attach LEDs red and green if correct conditions met or not met..

Any thoughts on this or ideas would be great as I don't really know where to start at all at all, thanks!

@ younge
yes this idea can be implemented on any microcontroller that u can understand easily
some projects on the same side i looking like some part of ur project u can use that as a reference
for door opening detection u can use magnetic switch
automatic room light controller

Is it possible to find a laser that would trigger an alarm when interrupted? As in a laser beam going across a window? Trying to find one that runs off an 8052, ie interfaced
