Moving msg display-plz help me with this common project

We've just begun with 8051 this semester, and my major project is based on Moving Message Display using 8051. I've searched numerous sites, but for a "newbie" like me, it's all a bit difficult.

Can you suggest a site which has an introduction, circuit diagram, code etc. for the same, or if anyone has made a project on the same..please help me out?!?
