VS 1838b sensor

Hi,
I am trying to implement an occupancy counter using IR sensor.
the sensor I got from the market is VS1838b. But I cannot find any datasheet over the internet for it.
One i found was in chinese from which I found that it uses the same 38 Khz as 1738 sensor.
So is this the same sensor as 1738 IR sensor?
Will 1738 datasheet be in compliance with it??

yes its same, give it a try.. its not gonna harm anything.. do not forget to compare the pin compatibility.

It would help to read Chinese
but I think you can get what you need. The key points seem to be compatible
with the 1738

Yes this is the datasheet I was talking about.
Thanks. I will go ahead.
One more thing- I am trying to implement a beam breaker detector. So I want to use a 38 Khz continuous signal. I read somewhere on the net in 1738 (hence 1838) should use a burst signal?
What is a burst signal? Won't it work with continuous signal?
Thanks for all your help.

1738 has nothing to do with burst or continuous signal. if you feed a 38Khz signal you will get low on the o/p and if no signal is there you will get high. thats all.

I read more about it.
People say that sending a continuous signal will increase the gain of 1738 so much that its range will reduce very much. Upto cms.
