how to interface mobile with 8051 microcontroller....

can i use Nokia6020 for sending/receiving AT commands from u-controller ....does it support any com port interface cable...????....plz name some of cheapest mobiles from nokia/samsung...etc...thts supports com port interface....thnx....

The 6020 uses a common pop-port, comm's is via USB.

I would recommend an old ericsson. I'm using a T10 and T18s. Check out pinouts.ru for connections and comm's.

computer eng. the link you posted use phone with internal modem and which is most recommended for embedded projects. they have simple and direct interface to controllers, easy to use AT Command set makes it easy to use them in projects.

whereas phones like 3310, 3315 etc, uses FBUS a typical protocol from nokia. it hard to use and need lot of time to debug, you cannot send messages on runtime easily as message has to packed first in PDU format and then transmitted to phone in a specific frame format at high baud of 115200.

try if you can find some simple phone like sony erricson T610 etc.

wat about NOKIA-1110..that supports AT commands..?
