Can I do this project? Reed switch + 8051 + GSM module??

Hi every buddy.

I want build this project, first I wanna make sure can I do it or no??.
My project is Wireless Alarm System,I`ll use reed switch with 8051 Microcontroller and GSM module exactly Arduino SIM900.
I want if the switch connected gsm module send a message (that I created and wrote it in gsm module) to a mobile.

There are projects which uses DTMF from phone, SMS control using GSM modem etc. check it. let us know if you need more help.

pc screen is necessary for troubleshooting
as you can send command from pc to modem and see modem behavior on pc screen
max 232 is a line driver ic it is used to interface any logic device with a pc
for interfacing of modem with pc you must need it
