GSM trouble

i think you are going on hit and trial
instead of understanding that whats happen in fact
actually you has to wait for a new sms
if new sms received then you process it other wise not

yes you can use dot matrix. but i feel that its better if you use two controllers one for dot matrix and second for dealing with GSM stuff. That will not only makes things simple but also more efficient and reliable. And best thing is you dont have to modify you current code or hardware... you can connect both controllers using serial port. and you only send data to matrix controller when you want to display something.. else it can just display whatever you have sent last.
