RJ45 just means the connector used.
The author perhaps had them handy, he could have used a 9 pin 'D'
In this case they are not being used to connect to the Ethernet local network.

Do you *need* to connect using the Ethernet network ?
There are simpler ways.
What are you doing exactly ?

i only want to know if i can output a data [using visual basic] to a ethernet port without using stack.
is it possible??

simplier ways? may i know what are those!?

It is possible but lot of programming involved. You need to use Wincap wrapper for .net to do so.. Here is a link that might be helpful for you:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3964013/how-send-raw-ethernet-packet-with-c

On controller side you still need an ethernet controller.

I meant simpler ways to send data to a controller from a PC than using Ethernet.
eg an RS232 serial connection.

Looking back at your thread I think Ajay and I may have misunderstood what you where asking.
You are asking about the PC end, we assumed you meant the controller end.

You may have a different meaning for "stack"

Internet software comes in layers.. many layers
The stack is part of the "sockets" software is built into Windows
it talks to the hardware.

I don't know Visual basic but I assume it has Internet functions either built in or
available as libraries that can talk to the sockets software.

Finally we get your code that uses the Visual basic Internet functions.

You can't send data over the net without using these specialist functions.
